MENTORS AND MENTEES AT TOP GOLF

We had such an amazing time at Topgolf Spring! Thanks to God’s Point Mission Center, Wise Up to Rise Up Foundation was able to take an idea and make it a reality. We reached out to sponsors, got the contract signed with Topgolf, and pulled together an incredible event that gave over 80 youth and volunteers a chance to connect, laugh, and enjoy a free Topgolf field trip retreat. It was such a fun and meaningful day where mentors bonded with their mentees in a way they’ll never forget.

A big shoutout to Eyes on Me Incorporated for providing over 50 meals with chicken strips and fries for the youth and some of our volunteers. And let’s talk about the prizes! Thanks to Crumbl Cookies, Raising Cane’s, and Chick-fil-A, we had some amazing giveaways—like free Crumbl Cookies for a year, free Chick-fil-A for a year, two Raising Cane’s gift baskets, and more. It was so fun seeing everyone light up as they won these incredible prizes.

For me, the most special moment was presenting Adrian with the Presidential Bronze Medal. His story is one of the most inspiring I’ve ever heard. Adrian grew up in one of Houston’s toughest neighborhoods, surrounded by violence and hopelessness. Life wasn’t easy—he lost friends to gun violence, saw classmates pulled into dangerous lifestyles, and felt the constant pressure to give in to the streets.

But Adrian has a strength that’s hard to describe. When I met him at God’s Point Mission Center, I saw something in him—a fighter who just needed someone to remind him that his story wasn’t over. With encouragement and guidance, Adrian began to believe in himself and his future. He started helping out at his community church, stepping up in ways he didn’t even realize were acts of leadership.

That Presidential Bronze Medal wasn’t just an award—it was a moment that showed Adrian his life matters, his story matters, and he is worthy of being celebrated at the highest level. It was life-changing, not just for him, but for everyone who witnessed it.

This event was more than just fun—it was a day of inspiration, connection, and hope. We’re so thankful to everyone who made it possible and can’t wait to keep creating opportunities like this.
